Wild Bird Care and Wildlife
As gardeners and horticulturalists we are very aware of the importance of looking after the wildlife in our gardens. Helping beneficial insects, mammals, amphibians and birds keeps garden pests under control without resorting to chemicals. Many people find watching the birds in the garden an essential part of the enjoyment of their garden.
Sales of wild bird care and wildlife products continue to grow on an annual basis as more people realise the importance of nurturing the wildlife in our gardens.
Indeed, as we have found ourselves, the more that we feed the birds in our own garden, the increasing diversity of species we attract. To date we have positively identified 61 different species on the nursery.
As well as the birds, Foxes, Fallow Deer, and Badgers are a regular sight. During summer, Grass Snakes are occasionally seen in the fields around the nursery, with their nest being found in the rather large compost heap. Newts are often found under pots in the greenhouse, along with frogs and toads.
